WRU Deaf prepare to host Ghana National Deaf Rugby Team in April 2022
 
The Ghana National Deaf Rugby Team, which is currently based in Kumasi the Ashanti Regional capital, is to play series of international friendly matches in Wales case both teams prepare for the World Deaf 7’s Rugby championship in Argentina 2023. 
 
A series of matches will be played here in Wales, details of which will be shared shortly. It is anticipated that tickets will be made available for supporters to watch.
 
WRU Deaf Chair, David Cobnor said:
“This is a very exciting time for Deaf sport in Wales and with the World Deaf 7’s rugby championship on the horizon, hosting Ghana National Deaf Rugby team marks a considerable step forward in our team preparations for competing in Argentina next year.”

Mr  Wilson Agbesi, the acting Secretary General of the Ghana Deaf Rugby Association, stated

“the Wales game is going to be great preparations for the team as far as the World championship is concerned and it is the target of the Team to do very well in the world championship in raising the flag of Ghana high once again as far as disability sports is concerned.”
