WAITROSE 'COMMUNITY MATTERS' SCHEME BOOST FOR WALES DEAF RUGBY

Wales Deaf Rugby is delighted to have been supported by the partners and shoppers of the Waitrose store in Pentwyn (Cardiff) in their ‘Community Matters Scheme’ for November 2010.

Customers using the store are given a token at the check-out, which allows them to vote for a charity they would like to receive a financial donation.

They decide what percentage of the available funding each charity receives by putting their token in the store’s ‘Community Matters’ box.

Both members of the public and Waitrose staff can nominate charities within the store’s catchment area and Wales Deaf Rugby received £439 as a share of the £1,000 available from the store.

To all the shoppers and partners at Waitrose Pentwyn, “Diolch yn fawr!”  Your generous support will make a real difference and help with the development of deaf rugby in Wales.
