INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS SPARKS INVESTMENT IN WALES DEAF RUGBY

 

Wales Deaf Rugby has announced a new sponsorship deal with American based S&C Electric Company, a global provider of equipment and services for electric power systems.

 

The two year investment will support the development of the team and help keep Wales at the forefront of world deaf rugby. 

 

S&C Electric Europe Ltd launched in April 2008 as the sales and service organisation of its parent company based in Chicago.

 

Its headquarters is in Swansea and currently employees 13 people throughout Europe.  Since it started in 2008, business has grown each year and this year will pass over £10 million.

 

S&C also offers a wide range of engineering, laboratory and testing services for electric utilities and commercial, industrial and institutional power systems. 

 

The company has engineering offices and manufacturing facilities across the United States with subsidiaries in Canada, Brazil, Mexico and China.

 

Speaking at the Millennium Stadium, Wales Deaf Rugby Chairwoman Claire Thomas, said; “We are delighted to have secured such a prestigious company as the national team sponsor.  We are excited to be working with S&C and their financial support will have a positive impact on our future development plans.”

 

S&C Engineering Director Jason Lander, said: “S&C Electric Europe Ltd is pleased to be associated with Wales Deaf Rugby as it reflects the qualities of our business. These are working as a small team within a larger organisation and encouraging staff to work together to achieve success while facing many challenges.”


He continued: “With a passion for using Welsh companies where we can and to put something back into Wales, we are very proud to sponsor the Wales Deaf Rugby team.  We wish the team a successful season and look forward to working with Wales Deaf Rugby in the future.”
